Band 6: CAMHS Nurse

We need 1x FT CAMHS nurses to join extended hope service. We need experienced CAMHS nurses, ensure they are drivers and can be a part of a 7-day rota (they will work 4 shifts) start date is ASAP. Interviews this week.

There will be driving involved between bases and the trust will NOT reimburse for travel expenses. Please explain this to your staff and let them know any expenses are included in the rate. There is a vehicle available at the site however if this is already in use for other children, they will be expected to drive their own vehicle and will not claim back expenses.

The Extended Hope assessment and support service aims to support young people facing emotional and mental health crisis outside of normal office hours or requiring, following assessment, a respite/crisis bed at Extended Hope for up to seven days.

It is staffed by residential workers and a community psychiatric nurse who will undertake mental health assessments of young people and can offer support to that young person and their family/carer. The service operates between the hours of 5-11 pm, seven days a week and can be accessed through the 24/7 crisis line.

We need nurses who are mobile, drivers and willing to be travelling between working hours. Expenses for travel will be covered. This role is on a rota basis and so will include weekends, bank holidays and some unsocial hours during the week.

working with 11-18 year olds who are in mental health or social crisis, usually the young people have complex needs and work alongside various agencies to meet their care needs
supporting the families and carers
mental health assessments
care planning and review
risk formulation and management plans
Safety Planning
Support to the residential team at Extended Hope House
Educational support for the residential workers
Professional meetings which may also include escalation calls, network meetings, care plan reviews and discharge planning review
Lead and oversee the care and risk of young people who are in the House for respite and advise, support and role model for the team how to manage the situations as they arise

You will work closely with the whole of the Crisis Pathway Network in Surrey in particular the Hope Service.

Shift times: 1300-2100
Between 1pm-6:30pm it will be day rate, and then 6:30pm-9pm is night rate
